Description
Why it fits the theme is because in the future from now I want to see a clean PNG with no smell and with the environment not looking dirty. I want us to preserve our culture and still see our people celebrating our cultural days in the future. I want a country that has an economy dependent on agriculture. I want to see peace not war, I want to see many churches in the area where tribal wars and crime exist and people become God fearing.

BILUM OF THE FUTURE The painting depicts a woman with the bilum and inside the bilum are the things she can carry home after a days work in the future. Every home, every family, every PNGeans enjoy and partake in the country's social and economic growth. Peace, stability,
order and progress abound in every region. There are more educational opportunities for everyone and educated PNGeans are capable of running the industries without too much reliance on foreign labour. Highly developed infrastructure and roads reach and connect with the remotest areas of the country. The bilum also symbolises a future where tradition and culture remain a central part of every PNGeans daily life. Truly an amazing PNG!

This is a man, it’s me when I’m older. When I look up to the clouds, I am big. When I look down I feel small. When he looks up to the sky his face disappears. I want PNG to be like Australia. . . They have trains, and all kinds of shops, it’s nice and clean, and they have zoos. . .I didn’t draw all of that because there wasn’t lots of space but there’s so many things!

My late big brother is not far but close to us and watching us. He is the rising sun and the sunset. When I look into the horizon, I see him. I see good life ahead. It's like the dawn of a new day, fresh and filled with promises. In order for me to get to where my late big brother is, I will follow Derick (my second brother) on this road of education with the help of my mother and father. A much more better life filled with happiness awaits to be received, and it is my mission to get there.
